Quick Start

This section provides details for experienced developers to quickly start using the Solace Messaging API for Jakarta Messaging (formerly JMS).

The Solace Jakarta Messaging implementation is compatible with Jakarta Messaging 3.1 and provides JMS 1.1 functionality using the jakarta.jms namespace. The implementation is backward compatible with JMS 1.0.2b. It supports Java applications in standalone mode only.

For Jakarta Messaging clients to successfully send and receive messages, they must be able to connect to an event broker that is up and running and has a basic configuration to support them.
