NAB Port and Cabling Specifications
This section provides details on Ethernet and optical port cabling requirements for the following Network Acceleration Blades (NABs):
- NAB-0410EM—The NAB-0410EM-01 supports up to four 10GigE interfaces.
- NAB‑0810EM—The NAB-0810EM supports up to eight 10GigE interfaces.
NAB-0410EM
The NAB-0410EM supports up to four 10GigE interfaces configured through SFP+ ports. It occupies slot 1/3 of the blade carrier in a CHS-3560AC-08-A chassis. In a CHS-3560AC-06-A or CHS-3560AC-05-A chassis it occupies slot 1/6.
The SFP+ ports do not support speeds other than 10 Gbps. Ensure the network switch is set to 10 Gbps Full Duplex and disable auto-negotiation.
Fiber-Optic Connections
The four 10GigE SFP+ ports on a NAB-0410EM come pre-installed with removable 10GBase-SR SFP+ modules to allow for optical fiber connections using shortwave laser optics over MMF cable. These modules provide a 10 Gbps optical GigE connection to a network through 850nm (SR) fiber-optic links that uses LC physical connectors (as shown below). They are field-replaceable and provide uplink interfaces when inserted into the SFP+ ports of the NAB, thereby linking the appliance event brokers with the backbone network.

The required fiber-optic cables with LC connector ends are not supplied by Solace.
Twinax Connections
The SFP+ NAB ports can also be used with the following types of Twinax cables when the pre-installed SFP+ modules are removed from the NAB ports:
- active limiting Twinax cables with SFP+ connector ends (5–10 m in length)
- passive Twinax cables with SFP+ connector ends (0.5–7 m in length)
The figure below shows an accepted suitable Twinax cable with a SFP+ connector end.

Faceplate LEDs
Each SFP+ port has one green LED to indicate its link and activity status:
- ON—indicates link but not activity
- Blinking—indicates receive activity
- Off—indicates no link
