Creating an Agent Mesh Instance

When you create a Solace Agent Mesh instance from Agent Mesh Manager, you create the mesh and specify an event broker service that it connects to.

Before you create the Agent Mesh instance, you must have an event broker service available in Solace Cloud to enable agents to send messages across your event mesh. You can connect multiple Agent Mesh instances to a single event broker service. An event broker service connected to an Agent Mesh instance must meet these requirements:

• It must be deployed in a Dedicated Cluster in a private region that has been enabled for Solace Agent Mesh. If you do not have a suitable Dedicated Cluster, contact Solace.
• It must have an enterprise service class.
• The default solace-cloud-client username must exist.

To create an Agent Mesh instance, perform these steps:

1. Log in to the Solace Cloud Console if you have not done so yet. The URL to access the Cloud Console differs based on your authentication scheme. For more information, see Logging In to the Solace Cloud Console.
2. On the navigation bar, select Agent Mesh Manager .
3. Select the environment containing the event broker service that you intend to connect the Agent Mesh instance to. The Agent Mesh instance and the event broker service must be in the same environment. For more information, see Selecting Environments.
4. Click Create Agent Mesh.
5. Enter a Name for the Agent Mesh instance.
6. (Optional) Enter a Description for the Agent Mesh instance
7. Select the Private Region containing the event broker service. Only Datacenters that have been enabled to support Agent Mesh appear in the list.
8. Select the event broker service for the Agent Mesh instance.
9. Click Create Agent Mesh.

Completing Agent Mesh Setup

After you create an Agent Mesh instance in Agent Mesh Manager, you perform most configuration tasks outside of Solace Cloud. You can open the Agent Mesh UI from Solace Cloud and get started by configuring the default large language models (LLM) for the Agent Mesh instance. To complete the setup, perform these steps:

1. (Optional) Enable SSO for the Agent Mesh instance. For more information, see Enabling SSO for an Agent Mesh Instance.
2. In the top-right corner of the Details or Manage tab for the Agent Mesh instance, click Open Agent Mesh.

3. In the Agent Mesh UI, if you have not enabled SSO, click Login and enter the Username sam-admin and then copy and paste the Admin Password from the Agent Mesh details into the Password field.

   If you have completely enabled SSO, the Agent Mesh UI opens without requiring you to enter credentials to log in.

4. If this is the first time you have logged into the Agent Mesh UI for the Agent Mesh instance, in the Configure Your AI Models dialog that appears, select your large language model (LLM) Model Provider and click Set up Default Models. 

   The configuration values you need to enter depend on your model provider and how your organization connects to it. If you don't have the values you need, you can set up your default model later.

   If you have already logged into the Agent Mesh UI and the Configure Your AI Models dialog does not appear, see Configuring Models for instructions.

5. If you have SSO enabled and you want to provide access to Agent Mesh to additional users, in the Agent Mesh UI, on the navigation bar, select User Management and add claim mappings for additional users as necessary. You must have administrator access to the Agent Mesh to see the User Management icon. For more information, see Managing Users and Roles.

After setup is complete, you perform most updates to your Agent Mesh instance in the Agent Mesh UI.
